The Road to recovery just got longer.

If the Office of Mental Health gets it’s way, two state psychiatric centers will soon be closed down, forcing people with mental illness—and their loved ones—to travel miles out of their way for treatment and for visits.

It’s a move aimed at cutting state budget costs, but it would add a detour to quality care.

Members of the New York State Public Employees Federation and other mental health care advocates agree: we must make the road to recovery as short, smooth and safe a ride as possible.

Don’t keep the mentally ill waiting for therapeutic care.

Keep the Hutchings and Middletown Psychiatric Centers open.

Tell state lawmakers to pass a budget for New York that preserves all the available treatment options in our communities.
