State AFL-CIO offers scholarship
The New York State AFL-CIO will award an $8,000 four-year
scholarship to a 2003 graduating high school senior who
plans to pursue a career in labor relations or a related
field. The award will be $2,000 a year, for four
consecutive years.
To be eligible, the applicant must have a parent or
guardian who is a member of PEF or another union
affiliated with the New York State AFL-CIO. Applications
are available through the NYS AFL-CIO Scholarship
Committee, c/o Dr. Lois Gray, Cornell University, ILR
School, 16 East 34th Street, 4th floor, New York, NY
10016.
The completed application and other materials must be
received by April 15, 2003. Finalists will be selected
and interviewed. In June, the winner will be selected and
