Four E. Board vacancies filled; three more seats open
By SHERRY HALBROOK
Four mid-term vacancies have been filled on the PEF Executive Board during the
first-quarter special election process that began in January.
Now, nominees are sought to fill three new vacancies on the board.
The four new board members — all of whom were elected automatically as the only
certified candidates following the nomination process — are:
• Brian Langdon to Seat 85 representing certain members at the state University
of New York;
• Colleen O’Connor to Seat 180 representing certain members at the state Health
Department;
• Adel Fahim to Seat 190 representing certain members at the state Health
Department; and
• Paul Steve to Seat 485, representing certain PEF members at the state
Department of Taxation and Finance and the state Division of the Lottery.
Prospective candidates may begin circulating petitions April 10 for nomination
to fill seats 5, 230 and 475.
Seat 5 represents members of PEF Division 263A in Region 8 at the Office of the
State Comptroller, with the exception of members working in the OSC Division of
State Services and Local Government.
Seat 230 represents members in PEF Regions 4, 5, 6 and 7 who work at the state
Labor Department and those at the Workers’ Compensation Board.
Seat 475 represents members of PEF Division 190A at the state Division of
Taxation and Finance in the Tax Appeals section in Troy, in the Division of the
Treasury, and at central offices in Building 9 of the state office campus, with
the exception of the Offices of Counsel and of Tax Policy Analysis.
Nominating petitions must be submitted by May 1. If more than one candidate is
certified for a seat, a special election will be held.
