The state will process longevity payments this month for eligible employees in the state PS&T bargaining unit.

Although the 2003-07 PS&T Contract, which provides for the payments, expires April 1, the state will process the payments April 18 for employees on the administration payroll and April 26 for the institution payroll. There is no direct deposit of these payments.

The checks are based on payments of $1,250 for eligible employees with five years to nine years of continuous service at or above the job rate, and $2,500 for those with 10 or more years at or above the job rate.

To be eligible, you must be on the state payroll on March 31, 2007, in a PS&T unit position. That includes employees who are or have been out on leave with partial pay, Workers’ Compensation, military leave with or without pay, or who work part-time in an annual-salaried position.

Eligibility also requires that you did not receive an “unsatisfactory” performance rating between January 1 and December 31, 2006. It’s OK if you received no rating during that time.

If you have additional questions about eligibility, contact your PEF field representative. — Sherry Halbrook
