Corrections made to ’09 PEF Triennial Election constituencies

Several corrections have been made to the PEF Executive Board seats and constituency descriptions listed in the 2009 PEF Triennial Election Rules published in the March issue of The Communicator.

Please note the following corrections:
• Under SUNY, Seat 80 (Downstate Seat 1), it should have said Nurse 1s and Nurse 2s only, instead of Nurse 1 and Nurse 3s only;

• Under Health Department, Seat 185 (Health Main Office) should have specified floors 2-10 of the Corning Tower. The correct number of nominating petition signatures required is 31;

• Also under the Health Department, Seat 187 was omitted. This seat represents members at the Health Department Main Office – PEF Region 8, Corning Tower Floors 11-42. (12000, 12200). The number of petition signatures required is 37.

• Under Transportation, Seat 490’s constituency description left out the offices of Design, Technical Services, Construction, Structures, Environment, and Real Estate.

• Also under Transportation, Seat 495’s description should have included Delivery, Operating, Administrative Services, Policy and Planning, Legal Services, Information Technology, Audit and Civil Rights, the Office of Communications and the Office of External Relations.

Please direct any questions to the PEF Elections Committee or call

Clarification
An article in the March issue about a pilot program to eliminate mandatory overtime for nurses at the state Office of Mental Health said the focus at Manhattan Psychiatric Center is on 12-hour shifts. Actually, PEF’s focus is on attaining 12-hour shifts. Currently, some nurses are volunteering for double 8-hours shifts.
