Loves
MBP, but site’s tough
To the Editor:
I have always enjoyed the discounts and services the PEF Membership Benefits
Program (MBP) has brought to the membership.
However, the change in the MBP Web site has been the worst change PEF has
made. This site is now so frustrating, I have not been able to get into it
after having my password set several times.
I have not been able to purchase even the most simple thing, such as movie
tickets. I urge PEF to go back to the old Web site model.

Editor’s Note: The new, higher security
allows MBP to offer some new benefits that require password protection.
Some members’ access to the new, password-protected e-store from their
worksites is restricted.
Instructions for accessing the e-store from other locations are provided on
the home page at
www.buymbp.com and are downloadable. The instructions also are sent out
in every MBP mailing and are published in The Communicator.

Still
hankering for severance
To the Editor:
Bravo to Alan Hoxie, who had the courage to speak up in the February
Communicator about severance pay for people who want to retire.
I was willing to retire and submitted the paperwork twice. However, the
state Department of Correctional Services denied it to me and several other
people at Gowanda Correctional Facility because of not being able (under the
rules for severance) to replace us.
The governor should wake up and see just why people are not retiring from
state service.
