elected to PEF Board Two vacancies on the PEF Executive Board have been filled by special elections. As the only certified candidates nominated, Ron Russom and Lola Parks Guerra were automatically elected in May to fill seats 90 and 200, respectively. Russom will represent members at the state Higher Education Services Corp. Guerra will represent members at the state Health Department main office in PEF Regions 9-12 (Hudson valley, New York City and Long Island), and at the Veterans’ Home in New York City. They will serve the remainder of three-year terms which expire July 31, 2003. No nominee was certified for Seat 540, which is also vacant. Nomination petitions will be available again for this seat in the next quarterly special-election period, as well as any other seats vacated during the current quarter. — Sherry Halbrook |
