Placing mentally ill children with mentally ill adults —
The Office of Mental Health calls it “Efficiency.”
Experts call it “A giant step backward.”
We call it a “Nightmare” for our most vulnerable children.
Legislators — make sure consolidation of children’s and adult psychiatric centers never happens.

Combining children’s and adults’ mental health facilities could become a nightmare of horrors for our most vulnerable children!

The proposed consolidation is, “...a giant step backward,” according to the president of the Board of Visitors for the Rockland Children’s Psychiatric

Center. He says, “The treatment of our most precious resource, our children — particularly the vulnerable and unfortunate ones — is reflective of our society’s priorities.”

The American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry calls for treatment of children and adolescents in programs that are “...physically distinct from programs for adult psychiatric patients.”Legislators — make sure this nightmare never happens. You can change this picture for the better.
