| VACANCY The New York State Public Employees Federation, AFL-CIO, seeks to fill a vacancy in this position at its Albany headquarters: Organizer (Nurse) Position Summary: Responsible for organizing and coordinating internal membership campaigns among nurses. Resolve workplace concerns, including labor-management, contract, legislative, legal and education issues. Assist Statewide Nurses Committee in developing and implementing long-and short-term goals. Qualifications: Experience/skill in grievance handling, organizing, Taylor Law procedures, and negotiations. Excellent oral and written skills. College degree with emphasis on labor relations or related field; R.N. nursing degree preferred. Flexible hours and statewide travel required. Salary: $40,525 – 58,396 plus longevity steps with 3.5% raise on 7/1/01. Excellent employer-paid benefits. This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
