Nurses celebrate their profession in May

BEING
APPRECIATED – PEF Division 198 Council Leader Donald Morgenstern presents a
plaque to Denise Dyer for her previous work as a steward at Downstate
Medical Center in Brooklyn. Dyer, a teaching and research center nurse,
recently returned to Downstate after serving in the U.S. Army as an
assistant chief nurse at the Combat Support Hospital at the Naval Air
Station in Jacksonville, FL. The presentation took place at a PEF division
breakfast in May in recognition of National Nurses Week. Approximately 340
nurses attended the event where they were treated to a buffet and gifts.
Morgenstern said the hospital also honored the nurses with a day of
pampering such as manicures and massages, and other events throughout the
week.
