GHI adds specialists
Check dental claims on web

By LORRAINE SIMPKINS
If you are a PS&T member enrolled in the GHI Preferred Dental Plan, check out the new features GHI has added to its web site,
www.GHI.com.

You can now use the site to verify that you and/or your dependents are covered under the plan.

You can get information about pre-determination-of-benefit requests that have been approved. And you can check on the status of claims for actual services. But don’t worry, your privacy is protected.

The GHI web site offers multi-level security. To access your information, you must apply for a unique personal identification number (PIN). GHI will then send you a computer-generated PIN by mail within seven business days. This PIN, known only to you, ensures your confidentiality is protected.

And there’s more good news if you’re enrolled in the GHI Preferred Dental Plan and live in the Capital District.

Four more specialists in the greater Albany area recently joined the network of participating dentists. They are:
Alex Avanessian — periodontist (treatment of gum disease);
David Foreman — prosthodontist (prosthetic appliances, e.g., bridges and dentures);
Mark Goldman — oral surgeon; and
Gary Goldstein — endodontist (root-canal therapy).

These specialists were once part of Kaiser Permanente and are located in the health center at 1201 Troy-Schenectady Road near PEF headquarters in Latham. They all belong to a multi-specialty group called First Advantage Dental which also has several general dentists participating in the Preferred Dental Plan.
