I’m fighting to protect my child’s recovery from mental illness.

My name is Lynn, and my daughter Angela is recovering from a mental illness.

I’ve worried about finding the best place for her treatment.

Luckily, we found it at a state psychiatric center for children.

But now the state wants to close the Sagamore Children’s Psychiatric Center — and three others around the state — and move our kids to the Pilgrim Psychiatric Center for adults.

Thirty years ago, children were moved out of large, old hospitals geared for adults, and into small, child-friendly centers — separate from adult patients.

Now the state wants to move kids back to the adults’ centers.

That would derail our children’s recovery.

I believe the state’s children’s psychiatric centers still offer the best hope for our children’s recovery.

Please. Help me protect that hope, for my daughter and hundreds of others like her.

Call the governor and your state lawmakers, and tell them to keep the Sagamore Children’s Psychiatric Center open.

Call 1-877-255-9417.

Let’s keep kids with kids, in mental health centers designed for them.
