2002 Convention Preview 24th Annual Convention
Elected Delegates Published July 2002

Approximately 1,000 delegates will head to Buffalo for the 24th Annual PEF Convention which begins Sunday, Oct. 6 and concludes Wednesday, Oct. 9, and will be held in the Buffalo Convention Center.

Delegates will hear reports and comments from union leaders, vote on proposed amendments to the PEF Constitution (See page 16 for details), resolutions and the union’s 2003 legislative agenda, and attend workshops.

Martha Baker, president of Service Employees International Union Local 1991 and co-chair of the SEIU National Nurses Alliance will be guest speaker at the annual PEF Nurses’ Luncheon on Monday, Oct. 7.

On Tuesday, the PEF Veterans’ Committee will hold its annual luncheon, with Assembly Member Francine DelMonte as the guest speaker.

“This year, we ask delegates to make local businesses aware of PEF’s economic power by bringing lots of $2 bills and “Sacajawea” dollars to spend while they are in Buffalo,” said PEF Vice President Joe Fox.
