Five awarded Division 399 scholarships

PEF Division 399 has awarded $300 scholarships for 2006-07 to the children of five division members.

The scholarship winners are: Kelly Burke, Kelly Mack, Mary Sullivan, Maryana Yevtukh and Kaitlin Morey. They are the daughters of Division 399 members Terry Burke, Joe Mack, Rose Sullivan, Oksana Yevtukh and Sue Morey, respectively.

The recipients were presented with scholarship certificates and checks at the division’s July 13 membership meeting.

Division 399 members work for the state Office of Temporary Disability Assistance at the Division of Disability Determinations office in Binghamton.

“We congratulate all of the students who applied,” said Division 399 Council Leader Kathy D’Arminio.

“As usual, we had a very difficult time deciding the recipients from among the 18 applicants this year — a record number for us. And we were awed by all the students’ accomplishments,” said Scholarship Committee Chair Nicholas Cataldo.

The other members of the committee are Andy Krapf, Rita Scheer and Rose Sullivan.
