Candidates sought for 5 board seats

In July, Bob Gamache won a runoff election to fill PEF Executive Board
Seat 125, which represents some members at the state Office of General Services.
This was the final contest of the triennial PEF elections to be resolved.
In October, the first quarterly special elections will be held following the
triennial elections. Nominees will be sought for five Executive Board seats for
which no candidates were certified in the triennial elections.
Nominating petitions will become available October 1. Petitions must be returned
to the PEF Special Elections Committee by October 22.
If more than one candidate for a seat is certified, a special election will we
held, with ballots mailed by the American Arbitration Association November 10
and returnable by December 1.
Seats to be filled in these special elections are:
• Seat 25, which represents certain PEF members at the state Department of
Correctional Services working at the following facilities – Albion, Elmira, Camp
Monterey, Rochester, Groveland, Southport, Orleans, Livingston, and Willard;
• Seat 155, which represents certain PEF members at the state Office of Real
Property Services and at the Adirondack Park Agency;
• Seat 325, which represents certain PEF members in Region 9 at the Hudson River
Psychiatric Center (PC) and at Mid-Hudson PC: and at Central NY PC, and the
state Office of Mental Health (OMH) Main Office;
• Seat 360, which represents certain PEF Region 10 members at the NY Psychiatric
Institute, at the OMH Washington Heights Unit and at the OMH Main Office; and
• Seat 555, which represents certain PEF members at Roswell Park Cancer
Institute, NYS Canal Corporation and the NYS Canal Authority.
