Nominees for Region 12 coordinator sought

The PEF Special Elections Committee is seeking nominees for Region 12 coordinator to fill the vacancy created by the recent retirement of Ruth Gaines.

PEF Executive Board Member Eric Lindemann of the state Office of Real Property Services was appointed by PEF President Roger Benson to chair an interim Region 12 Leadership Committee until a new coordinator is elected. That committee also includes: Jonathan Gittens, Political Action Committee chair; Lola Young, treasurer; and Pat Bocca, secretary.

The Special Elections Committee has also announced the election of Mary Mahoney to fill Board Seat 197 which represents certain members at the state Health Department, and the automatic election of Eugene Greco as the only certified candidate to fill Seat 485 representing certain members at the state Taxation and Finance Department in PEF Region 8.

Petitioning begins October 15 and ends November 6 to nominate candidates for the Region 12 coordinator post. You must have been a PEF member since November 5, 2000 to run for this office.

To sign a nominating petition, you must have been a PEF member since September 20, 2002.

If more than one eligible candidate is nominated, a special election will be held. Ballots will be mailed to Region 12 members November 20, returnable to the American Arbitration Association (AAA) by December 11.
