Seven Years Later — PEF leaders and staff stood shoulder to shoulder in morning sunlight as PEF President Ken Brynien recognized the PEF members who perished in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in 2001. He was joined by PEF Secretary-Treasurer Arlea Igoe as they placed a wreath in front of the monument. Before asking the dozens of people who gathered to observe the anniversary of this horrific event with a silent prayer, Brynien said violence can happen anywhere. Heads bowed. More words weren’t needed, as the sorrow felt that day will never be forgotten. — Deborah A. Miles
