Life became more precious, and the people and public services you depend on became more important. Thirty-four of our members are missing as a result of the attack, public servants who died working on behalf of the citizens of New York State. We provide the services that you rely on and have come to depend on, engineers, nurses, social workers, health researchers, and others all pulling together to do the business of New York, all of the time, not just in times of crises. Right now we’re helping with the World Trade Center recovery, working to ensure transportation systems are running smoothly, that our most vulnerable citizens are properly taken care of, protecting your water, air and food, working to ensure your safety in the face of bioterrorism threats.
