Winner in runoff race to fill E. Board Seat 275

Bonnie Wood is the winner in a close runoff election to fill the mid-term
vacancy in PEF Executive Board Seat 275, which represents certain members at the
state Office of Mental Health (OMH) and the Office of Mental Retardation and
Developmental Disabilities (OMRDD).
As this issue of The Communicator goes to press in mid-October, nominating
petitions are also coming in for candidates to fill five more mid-term vacancies
on the board:
• Seat 25 which represents certain PEF members at the state Department of
Correctional Services working at the following facilities – Albion, Elmira, Camp
Monterey, Rochester, Groveland, Southport, Orleans, Livingston, and Willard;
• Seat 235 which represents certain members at the state Labor Department and
the state Workers’ Compensation Board;
• Seat 315 which represents certain PEF Region 8 members working for OMRDD main
Office and/or Capital District Developmental Disabilities Services Office
(DDSO);
• Seat 345 which represents certain PEF Region 9 members working for OMRDD main
office and those in PEF Division 248 at Taconic DDSO; and
• Seat 420 which represents all PEF members working for the state Department of
Motor Vehicles.
If more than one candidate for a seat is certified, a special election will we
held, with ballots mailed November 12 and returnable by December 4.
