Nominees sought for Region 11 coordinator, open E-Board seats

At least three more PEF Executive Board seats are vacant, as well as the office of Region 11 coordinator, which was formerly held by new PEF Vice President Pat Baker.

The vacant Board seats are:
• Seat 90 representing some PEF members at the State Education Department — Higher Education Services Corp;
• Seat 101 representing some PEF members at the state Education Department — state University of New York agencies; and
• Seat 540 representing some members working at National Development and Research Inc., and at Lockport Hospital.

The Region 11 coordinator office represents members working in Staten Island, Queens and Brooklyn.

Petitioning begins January 22 and ends February 12 to nominate candidates to fill these unexpired terms, which end in July 31, 2003.

You must have been a PEF member since February 15, 1999 to run for the office of Region 11 coordinator.

You must have been a PEF member since Aug. 16, 2000 to run for one of the vacant board seats.

To sign a nominating petition, you must have been a PEF member since Dec. 29, 2000.

If more than one eligible candidate is nominated, a special election will be held. Ballots will be mailed to members of that constituency on February 26, returnable to the American Arbitration Association (AAA) by March 19.
You must have been a PEF member since Feb. 12, 2001 to be eligible to vote in any of these elections if they are held.

Any eligible member of the constituency who does not receive a ballot by March 5 should contact AAA at 212-484-3220 to request one.
