CREATING PUBLIC AWARENESS — Nearly 200 PEF members from the state Division of Parole gather for a press conference in Manhattan to let the media and public know about administrative directives that prevent them from doing their jobs. PEF leaders and lawmakers such as Assembly Member Jeffrion Aubry, chairman of the Assembly Committee on Corrections, told the press in November the Parole administration is creating a threat to public safety because sex offenders are being released without supervision, and other parolees are being placed back into society with little or no monitoring.
