Three elected to PEF E. Board
By SHERRY HALBROOK
Three mid-term vacancies on the PEF Executive Board have been filled.
The new board members are:
• Dan Steen, Seat 235 which represents certain members at the state Labor
Department and the state Workers’ Compensation Board;
• Marie-Carmelle Souffrant, Seat 315 which represents certain PEF Region 8
members working for the state Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental
Disabilities (OMRDD) and/or Capital District Developmental Disabilities Services
Office (DDSO); and
• Maureen Kozakiewicz, Seat 420 which represents all PEF members working for the
state Department of Motor Vehicles.
A three-way runoff election is underway to fill Seat 345, which represents
certain PEF Region 9 members working for the OMRDD main office and those in PEF
Division 248 at the Taconic DDSO. The candidates are Janette Clark, Mary Beth
Franks and John Steele. Ballots are returnable by December 4.
No nominations were received for Seat 25, which represents certain members at
the state Department of Correctional Services.
This has been the final quarterly special election to fill mid-term vacancies on
the Executive Board.
PEF’s triennial elections of all statewide officers and Executive Board members
begins in early 2009 with the publication of the election rules and
constituencies in the February issue of The Communicator.
Those new three-year terms begin in August 2009.
