MAKING A DIFFERENCE – Marilyn McNaughton and Denise Halaburka were among the 200 PEF Division 399 members in PEF Region 5 who helped assemble more than 140 holiday bags for U.S. soldiers fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. The members work at the state Office of Temporary Disability Assistance in Endicott. Each holiday bag included a card expressing appreciation for their service to our country, toiletries, many packaged food items and decks of cards and puzzle books. Thirty boxes were mailed out in November, to arrive in time for the holiday season. Members are also sending boxes of afghans to wounded soldiers at Brooke Army Medical Center in Texas and to a hospital in Iraq. — Photo by Mary Ann Sacharov
