This ad developed by PEF's Public Relations Department, appeared in The Legislative Gazette, the Queens Chronicle, the Rockland Review and the Buffalo Metro Community News during February and March.

A prescription for disaster:

Combining children’s and adult mental health facilities is bad medicine.

It’s a misdiagnosis of treatment for our children.

The President of the Board of Visitors for the Rockland Children’s Psychiatric Center calls the proposed consolidation,“...a giant step backward. The treatment of our most precious resource, our children, particularly the vulnerable and unfortunate ones, is reflective of our society’s priorities.”

The American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry policy statement calls for treatment of children and adolescents in programs that are “...physically distinct from programs for adult psychiatric patients.”
Legislators — don’t sign this prescription.

It’s bad medicine.
