PEF E. Board gains one, but loses another
By Sherry Halbrook
One seat on the PEF
Executive Board was filled last month, but another was vacated.
As the only certified candidate for seat 90, Richard Bojman was
automatically elected to serve the remainder of the three-year
term which expires at the end of July 2000.
Seat 90 represents PEF members at the state Education Department,
Higher Education Services Corp. and the state University of New
York in PEF regions 5-9.
Meanwhile, Joseph Donohue resigned from Board Seat 460
representing members at the state Department of State when he
left the agency to take a position with the state Labor
Department.
Nominations open July 19 and petitions must be returned by August
9. Candidates must have been members of PEF since at least
February 10. Only constituents who have been members since June
25 are eligible to sign nominating petitions.
If more than one candidate is certified for the seat, ballots
will be mailed August 23 to those constituents who have been
members since August 9. Eligible constituents who have not
received a ballot by August 30 should contact the American
Arbitration Association (AAA) at 212-484-3220. Ballots must be
returned to AAA by September 13 for counting September 14.
