Save money: Order 90-day prescriptions by mail
Empire Plan enrollees can save money on prescription drugs by using the Express Scripts mail-service pharmacy for long-term medications.
Advantages of using the mail service include lower copays, convenience of home delivery and lower pharmacy costs to the Empire Plan. However, you must order three-month supplies and allow two weeks for delivery.
To use the mail service:
1. Ask your doctor to write a prescription for a 90-day supply of the medication(s).
2. Call 1-877-7-NYSHIP (1-877-769-7447) and select Express Scripts to request a mail service envelope.
3. Complete the “Patient Profile Questionnaire” section of the envelope.
4. Mail the prescription and applicable copayment (by check, money order or credit card) in the envelope to Express Scripts.
Allow up to 14 days from the date you mail the envelope to receive your order.
Orders are shipped by first class mail at no cost to you. However, there is a charge for express delivery. If the medication requires special handling, such as refrigeration, it will be shipped by next-day or overnight delivery at no cost to you.
Pharmacists are available to answer questions 24-hours-a-day at the toll-free number listed above. Refills may be ordered by phone, online at
www.express-scripts.com, or by mail.
