PS&T contract tops E. Board’s agenda at July special meeting
The PEF Executive Board, at a special meeting on July 30, 2004, approved sending a tentative four-year contract with the state to PEF members in the PS&T bargaining unit for ratification.
Board members approved sending the tentative agreement to the membership by a vote of 76 to 28.
Prior to the vote, Vice President Ken Brynien and members of the contract team reviewed the main provisions of the tentative agreement.
And President Roger Benson reported on the difficulty of negotiating when the state faces a $17 billion budget deficit and discussed the strategies used to conclude the negotiations of a favorable contract.
Three recently elected board members were sworn in — Janet Dell and Edward Ryan, representing members at the state Department of Taxation and Finance, and Kenneth White, representing members at the state offices of Mental Health and of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities. — Linda Rubin and Sherry Halbrook | |
