PS&T Contract Update...
Progress reported in contract talks
After what seemed like an insurmountable hurdle in PS&T contract talks, union leaders and the state have reached an understanding in mid-May about health benefits. Since then, both teams have been meeting on a regular basis and addressing the remaining issues.
“We’ve had several meetings during the last few weeks and detailed discussions,” said PEF Vice President and Contract Chair Ken Brynien. “The momentum seems to be moving forward and has resulted in tentative agreement on various contract articles. The negotiations have become more focused and intense.”
Brynien said the tempo of the talks has picked-up, but there is still important work to be done.
“In the meantime, we ask our members for their continued patience as we work to get the best possible contract,” he said.
