PEF is in hot pursuit of its goal of full member-mobilization status.
By mid-February, the total of PEF’s fully mobilized divisions was at 56. And PEF Region 2 Coordinator Cliff West had achieved the union’s first fully mobilized region.
“It was only six months ago, on August 10, 2001, that Division 222 Council Leader Jim Carr was the first one to lead a division to fully mobilized status,” said Eric Miller, PEF’s assistant director of member mobilization and education.
Having one member mobilizer for every 10 members in a division, means the other nine members also stay informed and ready to support the goals of their union.
“PEF’s goal is to have 55,000 active, informed members. This network, that is being expanded through our Mobilization and Education Department, is vital to the union,” said PEF President Roger Benson. “When we communicate, we share knowledge and build power. And when we unify, we can harness that power to achieve improvements for our members, our families and all New Yorkers.”
