PEF backs two in May elections

PEF has endorsed candidates in the two special elections on May 10 to fill vacancies in the state Legislature.

The union endorsed Republican Catherine Young in the race for state Senate in District 57, which includes all or parts of Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua and Livingston counties. Young is currently serving in the state Assembly and received PEF’s endorsement when she ran for that office.

Democrat Andrew Hevesi received PEF’s endorsement in his bid to fill the vacancy in state Assembly District 28 in Queens.
