Give them the tools they need
to become productive citizens.Keep Camp McGregor, Camp Pharsalia, and Fulton Correctional Facility open. Governor — Closing these correctional facilities risks our public safety, and only you can stop it. Inmates are getting education, substance abuse treatment and job training at these facilities — skills they need to remain law-abiding and productive when they return to our communities. Too often, inmates in New York state prisons don’t get the skills they need to lead lawful and productive lives. That’s one reason more than 40 percent of inmates return to prison within three years. Without the skills inmates acquire in programs and facilities such as Camp McGregor, Camp Pharsalia, and Fulton Correctional Facility to properly prepare them for release, it’s just a matter of time before they threaten our communities and return to prison. Governor, only you can stop this. Keep Camp McGregor, Camp Pharsalia, and Fulton Correctional Facility open. Help keep our communities safe. Give New York’s inmates the tools they need to become productive citizens.
