New York's wealthiest are helping themselves to big, fat tax cuts and tax loopholes, while the mentally ill are getting a raw deal.
Closing Psych Centers and Research Institutes across New York State opens us all up to disaster.

The Executive Budget calls for putting five psychiatric centers across New York State out of business forever, including: the Bronx and Bronx Children’s, Elmira, Hutchings and Middletown Psychiatric Centers. This proposal also threatens vital mental health research at the Nathan Kline and New York Psychiatric Institutes.

Closing these critical mental health facilities will mean incredible hardship and heartache for New York State’s mentally ill, their families and their communities.

Closing tax loopholes and placing a temporary surcharge on the personal income tax of the wealthiest New Yorkers would save these vital mental health facilities.
