Closing Hutchings Psychiatric Center will take away essential, local, in-patient treatment options for people with mental illness, forcing them far away from their homes and families.
There is a better way. Ask the state’s most profitable corporations and wealthiest individuals to carry their fair share of the state’s fiscal burden. Close corporate tax loopholes and implement a temporary tax surcharge on the richest New Yorkers.
Tell state lawmakers to pass a budget that preserves all the available treatment options for people with mental illness in our communities.
