Road to recovery closed due to state budget cuts.

Don’t block the road to recovery.
Keep the Manhattan Addiction Treatment Center open.

More New Yorkers need treatment for alcohol and substance abuse. But the governor wants to close the Manhattan Addiction Treatment Center (ATC), a 52-bed rehabilitation facility operated by the state Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services.

In New York City, the need for inpatient rehabilitation beds already exceeds the current capacity. If these alcohol and substance abusers cannot get needed treatment for their addictions they are more likely to commit crimes and endanger community safety.

The Manhattan ATC provides individual, group and family therapy treatment, as well as a full range of other services, and is often the provider of last resort.

Tell the governor and legislative leaders not to put roadblocks on the road to recovery for low-income New Yorkers. Help them get the substance-abuse treatment they need. Keep the road to recovery open at Manhattan ATC.
