Save NY Nurses...
Condition

Nurse staffing levels at many state agencies are critical.  Some facilities and institutions don't even have enough staff to accommodate routine absences related to illness, injury, or even vacation time without adversely affecting scheduling.

The shortage of nurses has led to:
Understaffing;
- Mandated overtime;
Increased job related stress;
Nurse burnout; and
- Workplace safety issues.
- All of these factors lead to a vicious cycle that reduces the quality of care patients receive at hospitals and health care facilities all across the state.

New York State can eliminate staffing shortages, by doing more to recruit nurses into the profession. Improving wages and benefits, and reducing work induced stress will retain them.

Its time to address the problem of short staffing. Resuscitate nursing. The life you save may be your own.
